Smoother rides at Meridian

If your daily commute takes you to Meridian, located in northern Douglas County, we have good news. Work will soon begin on a project that, when completed, will improve traffic flow at the intersection of Havana Street and Meridian Boulevard.

In partnership with the Southeast Metropolitan Public Improvement District (SPIMD) and the Meridian Metropolitan District (MMD), the intersections of Meridian and Havana and Meridian and Maroon Circle will be reconfigured, including new turn lanes and a new traffic control system. In addition, the concrete pavement on Meridian Boulevard, from Maroon Circle to Havana Street, will be removed and replaced.

The County Board of Commissioners approved a construction contract with Castle Rock Construction at a regular business meeting on April 12. The total project cost is expected to be $6.1 million. SPIMD will contribute $2.65 million to the project and MMD will contribute $450,000. The County will fund the rest. Visit the project website for updates.

Construction is expected to begin in June and be completed by mid-2023.
