Mask requirements inside courtrooms will be at the discretion of the presiding judge.
As of Friday, nearly every county in metro Atlanta was classified as a high transmission area, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Community levels are determined by hospital bed utilization, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in the community.
The mandatory face mask policy is intended to protect county workers as they provide essential services to the public, according to County Administrator Glenn Stephens.
